eHealth and Biomedical engineering

Workshop Chair: Prof. Dimitrios Fotiadis, Greece

Follow the SUBMISSION GUIDELINES here.

Main Topic:

The workshop will comprise topics such as practical realizations of smart Internet of things,  eHealth, assisted multi-modal learning, biomedical engineering, ICT in sport etc.

This workshop aims to cover the cutting edge in e-Health and Biomedical Engineering by giving the opportunity to scientists and researchers from various fields to participate in the presentation and discussion of the recent advances and challenges in the following topics:

-Medical Devices

-Monitoring and Treatment of patients

-Sensors/Biosensors

-Biomedical Imaging

-Biomedical Signals

-Bioinformatics

-Computational Models

-Big Data

-Biomedical Engineering in Sport Science

It will focus on problems of growing relevance in healthcare and discuss how e-Health and Biomedical Engineering can be used to address them enhancing the interactions between clinicians and engineers. The main objective is to lay the foundations for a fruitful discussion to understand clinical and patient needs as well as the technical challenges including interpretable techniques which can adapt to noisy, dynamic environments and the biases inherent in the data due to being generated by the current standard of care. Biomedical engineering is one of the fastest growing technological areas in the developed world, in part due to population ageing and the related increased needs, the increasing awareness of the importance of health in human productive life.
